Thanks to All

Well, it's over. I hope you all had a good time and got back home safely. It was great to see so many and get to meet some of your spouses and kids. Thank you ALL for coming... it wouldn't have been possible without you. A special thanks to Dorothy for the name tags, Anita for putting the directories together, Brent for helping Marcy and setting up on Friday, Laurie for being there every step of the way and working so hard, Tani for all her hard work and the name tags, Jennifer for all her help and getting the banner and of course our class president Marcy for organizing us all! Thanks to those ladies for also working the check-in table on Saturday night! The pictures and directories will hopefully go out by the end of the week. We are getting together on Wednesday to prepare them for mailing....sorry for any inconvenience.

We would like some feedback on what you enjoyed, didn't enjoy, would like to see in the future, etc. You can email me at denise@curtoons.com or you can post your comments here.

Once again, thanks....I had a great time and hope you did too!

A Great Beginning!

So the weekend began early...Thursday night, part of the class of 1987 kicked off reunion weekend at Mickey's! Hope you have been keeping up on the website because we wanted everyone to join us. It is so great to see familiar faces and reconnect with old friends. If you are on the fence about coming...just do it, you won't regret it. Twenty years post high school is a great place to be in life :0) (wow never thought I would say that!) Just come enjoy the company and friendship of those you grew up with, those you shared awkward and exciting times with, those that knew you then and those who want to know you now, those with whom you share a wonderful bond...grade school, junior high and high school. Share memories with those you don't even remember being in school with! LOL! Heck, there are memories we don't even remember, we are getting so old.(he he ha ha) I was having second thoughts about being at our 20 (I was nervous, and feeling awkward, I didn't go to the 10 despite being in town)...and I even helped plan this one...but I can think of no better place to be right now. You won't regret it, join us. We will miss you if you aren't here!!!!

Friday Golf Info

Tee times will begin at 10:15 am. We will have four consecutive groups. I recommend that we meet at the pro shop around 9:45 am. I just spoke to David North (1986 EHS alum), OCC Club Manager and Executive Chef. Everything is in place for tomorrow. I would like to thank both David and Tim Mendenhall for their generosity and hard work.

Breakfast or Coffee Saturday Morning

Another informal gathering of sorts....there is a great coffee place downtown called DaVinci's that will be open on Saturday from 7am to noon and some of us are getting together for coffee and pastries around 8:30 before the parade (if we don't have TOO good a time on Friday night and are unable to function that early). This is a great little "Enid" spot and is worth visiting while you are here so try to make it! Corner of Oklahoma and Grand downtown...see you there!

Probably Not the Last of the Last Minute Details

There are a couple of informal get-togethers that we want everyone to know about. The first is Thursday evening at Mickey's Bar and Grill in Heritage Hills Shopping Center on Willow at 8pm. All are welcome and if you have any questions then you can contact Dustin @ 316-393-8265 but REALLY all you need to do is SHOW UP (unless you get lost :)). Then on Sunday, if you are still around, Jynni Lewis and her dad started a Winery and there are some classmates talking about going out there for a tour, wine and free concert Sunday afternoon! They open at 1p.m. and the concert is from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Snacks, wine, & Grape Juice served on deck. Performers include Brandi Morris, T.Z. Wright & Jim Nay. Here is a link to the winery for directions: http://www.indiancreekvillage.com/index.mydop
and you might email Jennifer Voelzke Gideon if you are interested jenngideon@gmail.com

Parade information

Well, is everyone ready? I am, I don't know about all of you. We have run into one small snag on the parade ride. Turns out only about 10 people can ride in the parade. There was a little miscommunication on what the class would be riding in....it is actually a wagon and not a trailer which is what some of us thought. So......the plan has changed and we are going to watch the parade together at the corner of Grand and Randolph by the old 1st National Bank Building. If you want to ride on the wagon (and we want some of you to!) meet at that corner at 9:15am on Saturday. The rest of us just need to be there by the time the parade starts! Travel safe everyone and can't wait to see you!

While we are preparing to come together as a class for our 20 year reunion in just a few days, I would like for everyone to keep the family of our classmate Sonya Hill in your hearts and prayers. It is with a heavy heart that I post this news..below is Sonya's obituary, she passed away this Sunday after battling breast cancer. For all that remember her, you know what a sweet and wonderful person she was and that she will be missed by all those that she touched during her 38 years.

Thought I would let everyone know about some of the activities planned for the weekend of our reunion. It is a Centennial Celebration and quite a bit will be happening around town. The easiest thing for me to do is give you the web address to visit: http://www.enidchamber.com/cherokee%20strip.htm

There is also a 5K run on Saturday that benefits the Enid Track programs for anyone interested: Please call 580.242.8321 after 7pm or go to http://www.enidchamber.com/cherokee%20strip.htm and click on the 5K Land Run Registration Form.
